Dental Implants are a solid foundation and resemble the natural appearance of teeth. The implant dental industry represents the most advanced option available for damaged or missing teeth.
Most importantly, dental implants give you the freedom to speak and eat normally, preserving your daily routine and enhancing your quality of life. Curious about which implant solution is the best choice for you? Let’s talk about your options.
At Advanced Dental we design your dental implants to act as if they’re your natural teeth. The dental implant itself is composed of a biocompatible titanium material. This material is lightweight, strong, and durable. Your body is less likely to reject this material which increases the longevity of the dental implant.
A dental implant can replace one tooth or multiple teeth, depending on your specific needs. The team at Advanced Dental Center will complete all dental implant services in our Louisville dental office. Dental Implants are known to be the preferred option when needing implant or restorative dentistry work. Advanced Dental Center has expert and experienced staff to perform dental implant procedures for all patients.

The dental implant process requires a series of appointments spread out over several months. The exact number of appointments can vary based on individual circumstances, but here’s a general idea of what you can expect.
Your first appointment at Advanced Dental Center will be a consultation with our expert, Dr. Rudy Lane. During this visit, he will examine your oral health, discuss your goals, and determine if dental implants are the right solution for you. This could also involve taking X-rays or impressions of your mouth.
If you’re a good candidate for dental implants, the next step is the surgical placement of the implant itself. This procedure involves inserting a titanium post into your jawbone, which will serve as the root for your new tooth. This is typically done under local anesthesia.
After the implant is placed, your body will need time to heal and for the implant to fuse with your jawbone, a process known as osseointegration. This can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
Once osseointegration is complete, you’ll return to our practice for the placement of the abutment, a small connector that holds your new tooth. After the abutment is placed, we’ll take more impressions to create your custom-made crown.
Finally, you’ll have an appointment to place the crown. This is the final step in the process, and you’ll leave with a smile that looks and feels natural.
In total, you can expect anywhere from four to six appointments over a period of several months. But remember, everyone’s journey is unique, and your process may look slightly different.
Most patients are able to return to work the day after their implant surgery. The procedure itself is minimally invasive and performed under local anesthesia, so you should not experience significant downtime. However, you may feel some discomfort or swelling in the days following the surgery, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers and ice packs.
It’s important to listen to your body and not push yourself too hard after the procedure. If your job involves heavy physical activity, you may want to take an extra day or two off to rest and recover.
While the idea of having a titanium post inserted into your jawbone may sound daunting, the reality is that most patients report minimal discomfort during the procedure. This is because the area is thoroughly numbed with local anesthesia prior to the surgery.
After the anesthesia wears off, you may experience some soreness and swelling. However, this is typically mild and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers and ice packs. If you have any concerns about pain during or after the procedure, Dr. Lane will be more than happy to discuss pain management options with you.
While dental implants have a high success rate, there are certain factors that can contribute to implant failure. These include poor oral hygiene, smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, and certain medications that affect bone growth.
In addition, if the implant is not placed properly, or if there is not enough healthy bone to support the implant, it can fail. It’s important to choose a skilled and experienced dentist like Dr. Lane to minimize these risks.
Remember, regular check-ups and good oral hygiene habits are crucial to the long-term success of your dental implant.
